Logitech recently revealed its plan of rolling out the latest high-featured webcam that boasts to be the company’s first video device that is compatible with Mac.
Dubbed as the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro, it supports up to 720p resolutions and works with both iChat and Skype for video communications. The device also includes Logitech's RightLight 2 technology, which allows the image from the webcam to adjust itself to dimly lit or harsh lighting conditions.
The QuickCam Vision pro for Mac shows off its premium auto-focus technology and Carl Zeiss optics for better image perfect detail and clarity. Logitech also said that the device uses a voice coil motor in the autofocus system, and that this delivers better performance than the stepper motor system in other webcams. It can also focus on objects as close as 10cm away from the camera. The camera can also refocus on objects in only three seconds. The QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac uses a 2-megapixel sensor and can record full motion 30fps video.
“With this new webcam for Mac computers, we’ve integrated our most advanced video technologies to truly enrich your video-calling experience. The lens and auto-focus, the sensor and the lighting software all contribute to create image-perfect detail and clarity. Whether you’ve used a stand-alone or an embedded webcam in the past, you’ll be amazed at the difference in quality our new webcam makes,” said Gina Clark, General manager and vice president of Logitech’s Internet Communications Business Unit.
The QuickCam Vision Pro is scheduled to ship in July, and the device will be priced at USD 129.99.
