Pacemaker, Music-Driven Social Networking Trend

The term ‘community music’ is now growing as a career option. Many orchestras and arts organizations are seeking to extend their audience base into the community. Many young musicians, in response to changing employment patterns, are developing multi-skilled ‘portfolio’ careers or are simply expressing a personal preference for more participatory forms of work.

Considering music community as the next step in the evolution in social networking, Tonium, a Swedish tech company, has announced the launch of the Pacemaker music community. The Pacemaker music community allows members to upload and legally share the mixes of their music, created by them using a Pacemaker or the free Pacemaker Editor software. Pacemaker is a revolutionizing portable DJ system that allows mixing, playing and performing anywhere, anytime.

According to press release, due to unique licensing agreement with music rights societies, STIM and IFPI, Tonium is the only company in the world to be allowed to legally stream any music uploaded to the Pacemaker music community by users. This allows a unique creativity and freedom of expression that can be shared between members across the world.

With Pacemaker music community members can create their own profile, make friends with other members, listen to each other’s mixes, join fan clubs, post bulletins and leave comments for each other.

According to the company the concept behind Pacemaker and the Pacemaker music community is to give everyone the ability to interact with their music and share it with anyone who wants to listen.

Tonium claims to have made this ability to express through music available to everyone, and not just those who own a Pacemaker. Pacemaker Editor, a free, downloadable PC and MAC compatible application allows to play music, edit and create mixes.
